September 4, 2012

Its been almost a week since our fight.  As expected, he hasn't reached out to me.  Nor has he apologized.  Despite this, I woke up this morning ready to take on the world.  I had a date.  He's been very persistent and consistent.  Since our first date, a few weeks ago, he has been pleasant and stayed in contact.  He was not one of those guys that contacted me everyday, but definitely one of those guys that I could except to hear from sooner or later.  Originally, we were supposed to meet up yesterday.  He was on vacay and enticed me with souvenirs he had for me from his vacation.  Due to traffic, he deemed it to late to meet but offered up today instead.

This morning, I got dressed.  I made sure that my entire was both work appropriate and happy hour ready.  He contacts me first early afternoon.  I ask him where we were going to meet.  He takes a while to respond so I follow up with a question mark.  He says he was contemplating but then selects a local chain restaurant.  I ask him what time we were going to meet.  He responds with 7.  I say, hmmm ok.  He says "too late?"  I say I was planning to get out of here at 6, as I told him yesterday.  I say, its okay, I can just stay here until 7.  He comes back with make it 630.  Then, at about 6, as I'm still working, I realize that 6 is just unrealistic.  I say, let's do 7.  He then says, I don't want to hold you up, I'm waiting for a cab, but it hasn't got here yet.  I say, 7 works better.  He doesn't respond.  I figure 7 it is since that is the time he originally suggested, there is no cab yet, and it is only an hour away.  At 7 I text and say, I am ard the corner.  No response.  Three minutes later, I get there.  I text and say I am here.  No response.  I call no response.  I check with the concierge upstairs and down.  No one waiting with his name.  I call again, no answer.  I text, haven't heard from you in a while, not sure what happened, then I leave.  I trek the perplexing walk to the metro.  I ride the mind boggling ride home.  I wait dazed and confused for the bus to come when I get to the metro station.

I don't know what the hell happened.  Ws it because I changed the time?  Well, he's cancelled on me twice.  Plus, if that is the case, why stand me up.  Why not just say let's reschedule and never call me again.  Was it the comment I posted on fbk and twitter today, after he texted me again with the tenth happy face after a phrase.  Well, he doesn't know my last name, we are not social networking friends and when would he have come across the comment.  I just don't know.  In the words of Kanye, I hope that "n_____ dead"

Who knows.  I ws blown and sad, but after the two glasses of wine and my discovery of this blog, I think I will be okay.
